Townsville North Queensland on show to leading tourism buyers and sellers

22nd November 2022

Townsville Enterprise will spend this week in Cairns at the Australian Tourism Export Council’s (ATEC) Meeting Place selling Townsville North Queensland to leading tourism trade representatives.

Now in its 50th year, Meeting Place is the second largest tourism trade event after Tourism Australia’s Australian Tourism Exchange which will be held in the new year.

Townsville Enterprise Director of Visitor Economy and Marketing, Lisa Woolfe said Townsville Enterprise will meet with 24 inbound tour operators and online travel agents over three days.

“Townsville Enterprise is the official Destination Management Organisation for the region, and it is our role to attend these important trade events and sell Townsville North Queensland,” Mrs Woolfe said.

“Meeting Place 2022 is also the first face-to-face event since 2019, now that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. The team is really looking forward to telling our region’s diverse and unique story to key tourism trade representatives.”

“Attendees of the event represent the full expanse of the inbound tourism supply chain and Meeting Place is a valuable networking exercise to grow our destination awareness.”

Townsville Enterprise represents Townsville North Queensland including Magnetic Island, Hinchinbrook, the Burdekin, Charters Towers and Palm Island.
