Townsville Enterprise is calling for nominations for the 2023 North Queensland Tourism and Events Awards.
Townsville Enterprise Director of Visitor Economy and Marketing, Lisa Woolfe said the North Queensland Tourism and Events Awards provides an opportunity to recognise the outstanding local businesses and the people behind the industry.
“The North Queensland Tourism and Events Awards will recognise those operators who deliver on our brand promise to surprise and delight our visitors and to celebrate a year that has seen strong growth, both in terms of marketing awareness but also reaching a historic $1 billion in visitor spend,” Mrs Woolfe said.
“This year, we have added additional categories including outstanding contribution by a volunteer, and Excellence Awards for accessible and sustainable tourism.
“Anyone can nominate their favourite tourism business, individual, volunteer or event in the region.
“As we have done since 2021, we will be asking the public to help decide who the best tourism and events experiences of the region are with People’s Choice voting opening 5 September.
“The Awards Night itself will pay tribute to the destination’s new tourism brand Up for Unexpected launched in February this year. Attendees can expect a night of the unexpected, guaranteed to surprise and delight – just as our region and our operators do for our visitors every day.”
