Advocacy Alert: State Election

During this State Election, Townsville Enterprise will continue to be a loud voice for the Townsville North Queensland region. The message is simple; this election is about jobs, it's about opportunity, and it's about community.

The critical issues of energy and water lead the Townsville Enterprise election priorities as they continue to cripple industry and impact communities across North Queensland. For a region abundant with natural resources it is unacceptable to live with the unsustainable costs of accessing these basic necessities. 

In addition to this, our election package consists of policies and projects that position the region as a globally recognised centre for livability, world-class tourism experiences, innovation and new industries.

Townsville Enterprise acknowledges that the State Government has delivered a significant amount of public investment into infrastructure for Townsville North Queensland and there has been a lot of collaboration to get the region moving again.

It is important to continue building upon this momentum in order to secure the government investment required to support the growth of Townsville and the broader region. Townsville North Queensland has been doing it tough in recent years and we need targeted government assistance and policy to support growth, attract investment and stimulate business confidence.

- Lower Energy Prices
- Water Security for North Queensland

Port City:
- Channel Capacity Upgrade Project
- Mount Isa to Townsville Rail Connection
- Townsville State Development Area

Destination Development:
- Townsville Entertainment and Exhibition Centre
- Museum of Underwater Art
- Drive It
- State of Origin Bid
- Townsville Concert Hall

Innovation & New Industries:
- Townsville North Queensland – Defence Industries Development Agenda
- Lithium-ion Battery Plant
- Australian Tropical Biosecurity Network
- Reinstatement of Economic Development Funding
- Palm Island Retail and Business Precinct
