Today, Townsville welcomed new airline Bonza and direct connections between Townsville Airport, the Sunshine Coast and Rockhampton.
Townsville Enterprise CEO, Claudia Brumme-Smith joined the Mayor of Townsville, Jenny Hill, Queensland Airports CEO, Amelia Evans and Bonza CEO, Tim Jordan to welcome the new airline and passengers to Townsville North Queensland on the inaugural flight from the Sunshine Coast.
Not only are we celebrating direct connectivity to two new destinations - the Sunshine Coast and Rockhampton - but we also welcome a new, affordable airline to the region.
The timing is perfect as we prepare for the reveal of Townsville North Queensland's new tourism brand this Friday. Bonza has enabled us to expand our marketing activity to new markets.
A big thank you and thumbs up to our tourism volunteers for helping us to welcome these visitors to Townsville today.
