Townsville Enterprise has this week launched new holiday packages promoting a host of tourism experiences and accommodation offerings to encourage locals and visitors alike to find their shine in the region in 2021.
Following the success of the previous marketing campaign, which focused on the Summer school holidays, the ‘Find Your Shine’ campaign aims to support the local tourism and hospitality industry through the development of over 20 tailored packages to suit all tastes.
Working in close partnership with local operators, the second burst of marketing activity continues to keep a strong focus on Queenslanders travelling within Queensland. Additionally, it also presents the potential to re-enter new markets to boost visitation ahead of an anticipated low season in Townsville North Queensland and strongly focus on previously untapped opportunities that we haven’t since prior to COVID-19.
Townsville Enterprise Visitor Economy & Marketing Director, Lisa Woolfe said the Summer campaign had proved successful on a number of fronts, leaving no question that a second iteration of the campaign would continue to attract attention for the destination and convert through to bookings at townsvillenorthqueensland.com.au.
“The previous campaign secured over 400pax bookings over the Summer period, which has not only supported the industry through the festival season, but has also proven a formula worth pursuing again as we continue to work closely with our tourism businesses to package up our destination in a fresh new way,” said Ms Woolfe.
“As interstate borders reopen, we have an exciting new opportunity to extend our reach into these markets, which have always had a keen interest in Townsville North Queensland; and also gives our regional drive market reason to continue their exploration of their backyard in a way they probably haven’t done before.
“With 300-days of sunshine annually, world-class natural assets and some incredible deals on offer, experiencing our region will not only provide the opportunity to connect with loved ones, but support an industry that needs it now more than ever.”
All-inclusive packages range from family getaways with koalas and snorkeling with marine life, diving the Museum of Underwater Art, exploring and learning all about a World Heritage-Listed rainforest, wetting a line on the ultimate fishing experience at the Great Barrier Reef, or wooing that special someone with a fully catered secluded beach picnic or a sunset sail.
The ‘Find Your Shine’ campaign will run for eight weeks until 31 March, with travel dates from now until 30 June 2021. Campaign assets include digital and traditional formats, local and metro billboards and bus transit advertising in south-east Queensland, local radio advertising, targeted social media promotions, and content partnerships with Australian Traveller.
