Day 1 - Townsville 

Arrive in the regional city of Townsville North Queensland. The city combines a vibrant and bustling community, a relaxed North Queensland lifestyle, a rich history and stunning natural wonders. Check into your accommodation in Townsville and get ready explore the Strand, the marina, Billabong Sanctuary and the many restaurants in the center of town. Day 4 - Museum of Underwater Art 

In August of 2020, the Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) and Great Barrier Reef began seeing divers and snorkellers. Located at John Brewer Reef off the coast of Townsville, this installation is the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. MOUA is not only a uniquely beautiful spectacle, but an indicative blend of art, marine science and culture. Adrenalin Snorkel and Dive is the operator that is going to give you access to this incredibly unique part of the Great Barrier Reef. Day 5 - Charters Towers

Grab an early breakfast and then drive 90 minutes to Charters Towers along the Flinders Highway enjoying the change of scenery. Once you have arrived head out of town to Leahton Park where you will experience some true country hospitality with Texas Longhorn Tours. Operated by Mick and Lynda Bethel, this unique tourism experience offers guided tours to witness the spectacular Texas Longhorn herd aboard all-terrain Polaris Rangers or horse-drawn wagons. After your tour you will no doubt be hungry for more and what better way to refuel then stopping at one of the locals favourite watering holes - The Rix Hotel. Enjoy an ice cold beer and juicy local steak - you might even get to have a yarn with one of the local characters. Finish you afternoon doing some local touring of the many attractions including Gold Tower, Miner's Memorial Walk and Towers Hill.

Day 6 - Hidden Valley Cabins

Day 7 - Paluma and Wallaman Falls

For your final day embark on a cycling adventure with NQ Cycle Journeys. Join their guided tour of the Paluma Wet Tropics World Heritage rainforest area, where you'll explore cool mountain rainforests, scenic lookouts, waterfalls, and learn about mining and WW2 history. Spot diverse bird and wildlife species and take a short walk to a swimming hole for morning tea. Atrip to Townsville North Queensland wouldn't be complete without experiencing the magic of Wallaman Falls, the tallest single drop waterfall in Australia. Located in the Girrigun National Park, 2.5 hours north of Townsville or 2hrs from Paluma, this jaw dropping waterfall is famous for it's instaworthy shots from both the top and the bottom.

Local Tip - Stop at one of the many Italian Deli's in Ingham on your way up to grab a platter and some yummy treats to enjoy with the view.
