The finalists in the Queensland Tourism Industry Council's (QTIC) Top Tourism Town Awards have been announced, including 37 towns from across the state.
Excitingly, our region features across two categories:
- Townsville North Queensland - Top Tourism Town (population over 5,000)
- Ingham - Small Town (population under 5,000)
The Awards, hosted by QTIC, recognise and celebrate towns:
- that offer an amazing visitor experience;
- where tourism operators, businesses and the local community work together to make their town the best destination it can be;
- who demonstrate a strong commitment and encourage tourism and increased visitation.
We know we live in a perfect paradise here in North Queensland and this is a great opportunity to promote our region's unique experiences.
We boast 320 days of sunshine each year, an unrivalled regional events calendar, and within a 90-minute radius reef, rainforest, outback, city, and islands can all be enjoyed.
Public voting is now open, until Monday 26 April, to decide the winners of the Awards, and your vote is welcomed. Individuals can cast their vote for their favourite tourism town and go into the running to win a $2,000 Apollo Motorhome travel package.
