Success is magnetic for Aquascene Charters

Magnetic Island tourism operator, Aquascene Charters has a lot to celebrate this month with two awards at the Queensland Tourism Awards and funding for a new vessel.

Townsville Enterprise Director of Visitor Economy and Marketing said Aquascene Charters has gone from strength to strength.

“Townsville Enterprise was thrilled to support Aquascene through the application process for the grant,” Mrs Woolfe said.

“The new Aquascene Explorer vessel will contribute more than $1.1M to the local economy each year and will allow 4,000 more visitors to experience one of the top 10 Tripadvisor best experiences in the world.”

“Aquascene was also recognised at the Queensland Tourism Awards last week which is a major achievement for this small, family-run Magnetic Island operator.

Owners of Aquascene Charters, Stephanie and Adam Hinks welcomed the grant funding announcement.

“We are a small, family-run business, but we provide big transformational experiences,” they said.

“The new vessel is a significant investment financially for our business, and we are very grateful for some assistance and encouragement through this grant.”

“Our new vessel, based on a design that we know suits our tours, will be strategically designed with “enhancing the experiences” in mind rather than size and will allow us to take what we love doing even further.”

“Our school group educational tours are very popular, and the newly designed vessel will allow us to take a whole classroom size at one time. The new vessel will also provide greater accessibility to ensure everyone can experience Magnetic Island.”

“We’re passionate about our region and last week we put Townsville North Queensland and Magnetic Island in the spotlight at the Queensland Tourism Awards where we won Silver for Tour & Transport Operators and Bronze for Adventure Tourism.”

Aquascene Charters is a family-owned and run tour experience on Magnetic Island. Aquascene received funding as part of the State Government’s $15M Tourism Experience Development Initiative.
