Plan ahead with Townsville North Queensland holiday offers

Townsville Enterprise has launched new exclusive holiday packages promoting a host of tourism experiences and accommodation offerings to encourage locals and visitors alike to find their ultimate holiday in the region.

Following the success of the previous marketing campaigns, which focused on key holiday periods, this digital content and conversion campaign aims to support the local tourism and hospitality industry as it looks to regain momentum now that COVID restrictions have eased.

Working in close partnership with local operators, the marketing activity is primed to leverage Townsville’s recent national profile – through events such as the State of Origin, Rugby Union Championship and the National Rugby League Finals – and presents an opportunity to boost visitation ahead of key travel periods such as Christmas and Easter.

Townsville Enterprise Visitor Economy & Marketing Director, Lisa Woolfe said previous campaigns had proved successful on a number of fronts, and a continued strong focus on converting existing and new travel markets – such as Adelaide – would continue to enhance the destination brand awareness and convert through to bookings at townsvillenorthqueensland.com.au.

“Last financial year, campaigns like this attracted more than 12,000 visitors, contributing $7.8 million in visitor spend, which has not only supported the industry through some its most challenging times but has also developed a proven formula worth continuing as we work closely with our tourism businesses to package up our destination in a fresh new way,” said Ms Woolfe.

“We have seen great interest from South Australia since the new direct flights opened, and this is one of many markets we’re hoping to access in this latest long-term strategic content campaign which aims to support the local tourism and hospitality industry after the most recent COVID restrictions.”

“As interstate borders reopen, and Christmas holidays just weeks away, we have an exciting opportunity to extend our reach into these markets, which have always had a keen interest in Townsville North Queensland; and also gives our regional drive market reason to continue their exploration of their backyard in a way they probably haven’t done before.”

All-inclusive packages range from family getaways with koalas and snorkelling with marine life, diving the Museum of Underwater Art, exploring, and learning all about a World Heritage-Listed rainforest, wetting a line on the ultimate fishing experience at the Great Barrier Reef, or wooing that special someone with a fully catered secluded beach picnic or a sunset sail.

Holiday packages are on sale now with travel dates until March 2022 and start at just $199 per person. The fully integrated campaign includes digital and traditional formats, billboards, local radio advertising and targeted social media promotions.
