North Queensland’s Tourism and Events Alive in 2020

1st February 2020

Townsville Enterprise is proud to today launch the region’s annual guide to all things tourism and events, Townsville North Queensland – Alive in 2020!

The destination-focused events calendar will launch digitally across Australia and will be published in today’s Newscorp newspapers across the east coast, highlighting the must-do events, activities and experiences for visitors and locals. The campaign will use a combination of traditional and digital platforms.

Inserted in Townsville, Mackay, Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney CBD and Melbourne CBD newspapers, the annual guide is a part of the on-going strategic marketing activities promoting the region as a vibrant destination with world-class events and stunning landscapes. The campaign is not just aimed at potential visitors but also to encourage locals to invite family and friends to visit for an event and stay for an experience.

Townsville Enterprise Director – Tourism & Events, Lisa Woolfe said the key objectives of the campaign are to grow awareness of the region and increase Overnight Visitor Expenditure (OVE).

“In order to continue strengthening visitation to our region, the key messages of the campaign aim to inspire potential visitors to discover regional Australia’s best live events in the most spectacular locations,” said Ms Woolfe.

“This could be by attending a world-class event at our brand-new stadium, dining in award-winning restaurants and bars, or experiencing our region’s natural assets of reef, rainforest and outback.

“Whist we will be showcasing the region to potential visitors in our key markets, it’s also important that locals play a role in promoting their own backyard by inviting family and friends to visit.”

Campaign activity targeting key markets will be directed through social media channels, print, radio, and a partnership with Webjet.

The digital version of the guide is also free to download here.
