The Townsville Enterprise Board is pleased to announce the endorsement of Mr Michael Jones as the new Board Director of Townsville Enterprise.
Mr Jones is a highly accomplished management professional with over a decade of senior executive experience in the hospitality and gaming industry.
As Chief Executive Officer of The Ville Resort-Casino since June 2017, Mr Jones has been at the helm of stage one of its $42M redevelopment, transforming the identity of the resort and entertainment precinct.
Mr Jones said that it is a real honour to be invited to serve on the Board of Townsville Enterprise.
“Townsville Enterprise has a very important role in promoting industry and investment in Townsville and the broader North Queensland region,” said Mr Jones.
“I want to be involved with initiatives to stimulate economic growth. We need projects that attract more visitors to our region and make this place even better for the local community.”
Townsville Enterprise Chair, Kevin Gill said Mr Jones’ appointment was based on his strong leadership shown across the tourism and hospitality sectors, complementing the priorities of the organisation.
“Michael’s experience and knowledge is aligned to the direction of Townsville Enterprise”, said Mr Gill.
“He has been a key contributor to the Townsville Enterprise Tourism and Events Strategic Advisory Committee over the past year and is a welcomed addition to the Board.”
