Our 2018-19 Year in Review + Annual General Meeting + Annual Report

Despite the challenges of an unprecedented flooding event, a strong year of collaborative advocacy campaigns, tourism marketing, and economic development initiatives resulted in the opening of the Galilee Basin and over $400M of critical policy and project commitments for North Queensland, supported by 8.7% membership growth.

The approval of the $2B Adani Carmichael Mine, full funding of the $193M Port channel widening, $200M towards Haughton Water Pipeline Stage 2, $54M to progress the business case of the Hells Gates Dam and construction of Big Rocks Weir, the management of the North Queensland Flood Recovery tourism campaign and the launch of a revamped Emerging Leaders Program were highlights of a significant year of activities for Townsville Enterprise that resulted in near record membership growth and membership participation.

Amongst these achievements, there is one common denominator behind all of this and it is the role that our region's business community played in getting behind these projects, driving them and inevitably getting an outcome for the betterment of North Queensland.

Overall, the organisation invested into activities that have resulted in real outcomes which will provide a platform for members to rebuild and grow their businesses after what has been a difficult year, but one the organisation is also proud of.

We thank you, our members and partners, for standing with us over the past 12 months. We call on nearly all of you across a range of activities and initiatives throughout the year and could not perform our role without your support. We look forward to strengthening these partnerships and working side by side for another 12 months to continue making a difference in Townsville North Queensland today, tomorrow, and for the next 150 years.
