In January, Townsville Enterprise launched an integrated marketing campaign to grow awareness of the region, increase Overnight Visitor Expenditure (OVE) and improve the statistics of the Visiting Family and Relatives (VFR) market. The campaign is targeted to Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne markets and includes digital marketing, TV, print, airline partnerships and a local competition.
This campaign activity builds upon the success of 2017 campaign to position Townsville North Queensland as the home of regional Australia’s best live events and where all of Australia’s iconic landscapes meet. The campaign took out Silver in the Destination Marketing category at the 2017 Queensland Tourism Awards in November last year.
2018 Townsville North Queensland Events and Insider Guide
The 2018 Townsville North Queensland Events Calendar and Insider’s Guide launched digitally across Australia and was published in Newscorp newspapers in Queensland and the Northern Territory on Saturday 27 January 2018, highlighting the must-do events, activities and experiences for visitors and locals.
My kind of Place Destination Commercial
The ‘My Kind of Place commercial, produced by local company and Townsville Enterprise member, BlueKino, features homegrown local identities, the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ Michael Morgan and his fiancé, Townsville’s most popular fitspiration personal trainer, Brianna O’Toole of Minoma Training. The Townsville couple are essentially acting as tour guides in their own region throughout the commercial, showing their visiting friends the broad range of Townsville North Queensland experiences, events and landscapes on offer. There are four versions of the commercial which is live across Southern Cross Austereo television channels and social media.
