Statement attributed to Townsville Enterprise Chairman, Kevin Gill:
“Townsville Enterprise and the Townsville North Queensland community won’t stand for the new North Queensland Stadium to not be delivered on time,” said Mr Gill.
“Townsville and the North Queensland community has already waited too long for a world class stadium, which will not just serve as the home of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, but also as a catalyst for further investments benefiting the community and broader region.
“We call on all parties to resolve the workplace matters and get on with the stadium delivery.
“Watpac has been a strong supporter of local jobs and families and Townsville Enterprise was delighted that a local contractor was appointed Managing Contractor.
“Watpac is maximising local content and local jobs and that is a great outcome for Townsville.”
