Congratulations to the Hon Scott Morrison MP on today becoming Australia's 30th Prime Minister.
Townsville Enterprise looks forward to working with the Prime Minister and his Cabinet, particularly off the back of a successful delegation to Canberra last week, where we met with 28 political representatives to ensure North Queensland stays at the forefront of the Federal Government. Scott Morrison also visited Townsville recently, where he was briefed on key projects critical to our region's development such as the Port's Channel Widening, the Mount Isa to Townsville Supply Chain and water infrastructure.
We were pleased to secure a meeting with the Hon Josh Frydenberg in Canberra last week, a former Minister for Northern Australia, who now as Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party is well informed on our region's key priorities, such as the importance of the Hells Gates Project and an energy solution for the North.
Townsville Enterprise wishes to acknowledge Malcolm Turnbull for his commitment to Townsville and the North during his time as Prime Minister, particularly in securing the landmark City Deal for Townsville and his government's financial contribution to the North Queensland Stadium, and as recently as last week meeting with our delegation to discuss the region's priorities.
We will continue to reiterate and advocate the economic priorities of our region to leaders of all Parties and at all levels of Government, because a Strong North means a Strong Nation.
