Member Alert: Over $80M in funding available for tourism businesses

7th August 2018

Over $80M in tourism funding is now available for tourism businesses as the State Government launches the $36M Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund and the $48M Attracting Tourism Fund.

Townsville North Queensland tourism operators are invited to apply for the funding designed to increase the State’s share of the international tourism market.

This funding provides a significant opportunity for local tourism businesses to better their product offering, diversify their businesses and to start projects they otherwise wouldn’t be able to fund.

Tourism is an integral part of our region’s economy and this funding will ultimately drive visitors to our region and inject much needed tourist dollars into our economy.

Applicants who can match government support with a minimum $1 million commitment are invited to apply for the funding. Other requirements include that applicants must be able to start within 12 weeks of execution and be completed by 30 June 2021.

Smaller grants of $10,000, which will be matched by Townsville Enterprise, are also available to kick start new tourism ideas as part of 'The Pitch' initiative.
