Townsville City Council and Queensland State Government have jointly worked to declare a Priority Development Area (PDA) over the Townsville waterfront. The PDA includes 63.7 hectares of land directly adjacent to Townsville’s CBD located on both sides of Ross Creek. One of Australia’s biggest urban renewal projects, the waterfront redevelopment will activate prime inner-city land, create significant investment and job opportunities and catalyse CBD revitalisation over the next 20 years.
The Integrated Stadium & Entertainment Centre will be the anchor for accelerated development of the PDA by stimulating development of integrated mixed-use commercial and residential land in the areas adjacent to it.
Development of the PDA will be facilitated through a partnership between the Queensland Government, the Port of Townsville Limited and Townsville City Council.
