2021 Knowledge Exchange Series

Townsville Enterprise and the Carey Group are proud to launch the 2021 Knowledge Exchange Series, a six-part series hosted across the Townsville North Queensland region, consisting of a range of educational workshops presented by our region's business leaders and industry experts.

This exciting initiative aims to develop and grow our regional businesses' capabilities by facilitating business to business knowledge and skills exchange, collaboration, professional development and networking opportunities.

The Townsville Knowledge Exchange Series will be focused on providing businesses with key information to assist with the how to adapt, seize the opportunities and build in resilience to weather any future business crisis, with Q & A sessions and networking at the conclusion of the workshop.

The series kicked off on Wednesday 5 May in Townsville and focuses on the keys to growing your business during challenging times.

Dr Murray Prideaux - James Cook University 

Following 20+ years industry experience, Murray moved to the ‘Dark’ side to follow a passion for cutting-edge research and to operationalise leadership and strategy learning into the ‘real’ world. Murray has extensive international experience, particularly in PNG, working, researching and developing leadership and strategic capacity in both government and non-government organisations.

Murray has presented research findings at international conferences, enjoys connecting and would like to present a TED talk.

Colin Lea - Carey Group

Col’s area of expertise is wealth creation and retirement planning, investment strategy development for Self-Managed Super Funds, private wealth advice for high net worth clients and agribusiness clients of the firm. In addition to advising clients, Col works closely on driving new client engagement for the firm, and is one of the two Responsible Managers for the Australian Financial Services Licence held by Endure Wealth. Col is originally from a broad acre farming background in the Riverina and maintains a passion for agriculture in dealing with the firms regional clients.

Prior to joining the Carey Group, Col’s background was in international logistics, strategic planning, leadership and management roles in the Australian Defence Force for 21 years. In addition to completing a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, Col has completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP® Professional) program, which is the highest financial planning designation worldwide.

Peter Cavallo - Carey Group

As a Partner at the Carey Group, Peter oversees accounting and taxation support and manages clients in a variety of industries including small to medium business, construction, primary production, and high net wealth individuals. Peter is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).

Prior to the Carey Group, Peter developed his experience and skill sets in accountancy and taxation across a broad base of industries across the region.

Nikeeta Guazzo - Carey Group

Nikeeta's areas of expertise include cash flow and budgeting, internal management account review and reconstruction of accounts.
