Board Director Appointment

29th June 2019

The Townsville Enterprise Board is pleased to announce the endorsement of Ms Kathy Danaher as the new Board Director of Townsville Enterprise.

Currently Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Townsville’s Sun Metals Zinc Refinery, Ms Danaher has been at the helm of the refinery’s recent $200M solar farm development.

Ms Danaher said that it was a pleasure to accept the appointment as a Director on the Townsville Enterprise Board.

”I am looking forward to working with the other members of the Board and the wider Townsville Enterprise organisation in this new role”, said Ms Danaher.

“I see Townsville Enterprise as a key organisation to help facilitate North Queensland being a place that enjoys sustainable growth, whilst still maintaining the lifestyle benefits of living in a beautiful, vibrant, well serviced regional area.

“Hopefully, I too can contribute to these objectives by leveraging off my economic, business development and environmental experiences as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of a major Townsville employer, Sun Metals, and Marine Science education background through our own James Cook University.”

Townsville Enterprise Chair, Kevin Gill said Ms Danaher’s appointment was based on her highly accomplished finance and business strategist background which complements the priorities of the organisation.

“Kathy’s experience and knowledge is aligned to the direction of Townsville Enterprise”, said Mr Gill.

“She has played a pivotal role in driving major economic opportunities for our region as the architect of the Sun Metals Solar Farm Project and is a welcomed addition to the Board.”
