Today's announcement from Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk about the deadlines on the management plans for Adani's Carmichael Project is a signal that the end is now in sight.
The Premier announced that the regulator will reach a decision on the Black-Throated Finch Management Plan by 31 May 2019, and on the Groundwater Dependent Ecosystem Management Plan by 13 June 2019.
Adani Mining CEO Lucas Dow has welcomed the announcement saying, "it's a positive step towards the construction of the mine and rail project." More here.
The people of North Queensland and across all of regional Queensland will be watching these dates closely as they are also the dates that will lead to the jobs that will flow to our community.
We welcome the news that the Queensland Government is proactively engaging with Adani on progressing this important project and we look forward to a positive outcome that will realise the true potential of the Galilee Basin.
