A statement from CEO Patricia O'Callaghan

23rd November 2020

It is with a heavy heart that I wish to inform our members that I have tendered my resignation with Townsville Enterprise to take up an exciting opportunity as the CEO of Destination Gold Coast.

As a born and bred North Queenslander this has not been an easy decision, but the North will always be dear to my family and I.

My nine years at Townsville Enterprise have been incredibly rewarding and not without its challenges, but every experience along this journey has shaped me into the person and executive I am today.

Advocating on behalf of you, our loyal members, to create opportunities that ensure Townsville North Queensland is an ideal place to live, work, visit, study, and invest in is what has driven me every single day. Seeing this region reach its full potential will still remain a passion of mine and I will certainly not be a stranger to the North.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Townsville Enterprise family, made up of a team of 15 and a Board of 10 Directors, and particularly acknowledge the Chairman for his support as I take up this new challenge. I leave Townsville Enterprise proud of what we have achieved and the adversities we have overcome together and know the ship will continue to be steered strongly.

My final week with Townsville Enterprise will be the week we break for Christmas and I will be commencing with Destination Gold Coast on 1 February 2021.

There are many people who have had profound impact on me personally and professionally during my time at Townsville Enterprise and for that I am truly grateful. It will be a busy final month but I hope to catch up with many of you before the end of the year.

To all our members, thank you for an incredible nine years.
