Advocacy Alert: Adani Overcomes Another Hurdle

The Adani Carmichael Project has formally overcome another hurdle.

As of this afternoon, the Native Title Bill has passed through the Senate clearing up legal uncertainties relating to Adani's Carmichael Project.

The Headquarters is officially open, the Final Investment Decision has been approved, there is a royalties agreement in place, the most stringent environmental regulations have been met and now the company can finally do what was intended seven years ago - create jobs for regional Queensland.

The passing of this Native Title Bill confirms the commencement of the largest single infrastructure and job creating development in Australia's recent history. This will contribute significantly to the future growth and prosperity of regional Queensland and confirms the large-scale employment opportunities that will be delivered to thousands of regional Queenslanders.

Townsville Enterprise looks forward to continuing its relationship with Adani Australia and working with the company on delivering maximum employment opportunities for Townsville North Queensland. Pre-construction is due to commence as early as September 2017.
