Convention Bureau

Townsville Enterprise is the official Convention Bureau for North Queensland – one of 14 recognised throughout the country.

The Convention Bureau identifies and bids for business events for the region, promotes the region as a business events destination to the business events industry, and provides support to the local community to bring business events to life in North Queensland.

Business events are one of the most lucrative sectors of the tourism industry and are of enormous value to the city.

The benefits of hosting business events include:

• Immediate economic impact from the delegates at conferences, meetings, and conventions - delegates spend more than the average leisure tourist during their visit,
• New visitors to the region – newcomers will discover our region and perhaps consider returning here on holidays. Many business event delegates also take trips around the region before and after their event,
• Opportunities for businesses in the region to share knowledge with counterparts from around Australia and the world and develop professional relationships with potential customers and suppliers,
