2012 Townsville Region in Focus Photography Competition Poster

Townsville Enterprise is encouraging the people of the Townsville Region to put on their creative caps and enter the 2012 Townsville Region in Focus Photography Competition. We want to capture what makes our precinct a thriving destination, so we are turning to the ‘real people’ who live, love, visit and work in our Region.

What type of photographs can be entered?

We want to see what you see, the ‘real’ Townsville Region - the good, the great and the beautiful. You may enter up to five photos per person per category - see below for the list of categories to guide you on your way. 

What is the Townsville Region?

The Townsville Region includes Townsville, Magnetic Island, Hinchinbrook Shire, Burdekin Shire, Palm Island, Ravenswood and Charters Towers Region.

The Competition

The 2012 Townsville Region in Focus Photography Competition will open at 9am on Monday 30 January 2011 and will close at 9am Monday 2 April. There will be one winner at the end of each seven day voting period chosen by 'fans' on the Townsville Enterprise Facebook page. In addition there will be one major prize winner of each category, chosen by the Townsville Enterprise Member sponsoring that category, at the end of the competition.

As Townsville Enterprise has recently embraced the world of social media the competition will be promoted using its Facebook page. All photos will be uploaded to the Townsville Enterprise Facebook page - from here, the public will cast their vote. Fans of the page will ‘like’ their favourite photo and the photo with the most ‘likes’ at the end of each week will determine that week's winner. After submissions close at 9am on Monday 2 April, the Townsville Enterprise Members will choose the winner of the category they are sponsoring and those winners will be announced on Thursday 5 April.

Voting Periods

Submissions open on Monday 30 January 2012. Townsville Enterprise will collect submissions for a week and will upload those photos to the Townsville Enterprise Facebook page the following Monday 6 February 2012. Photos will continue to be collected during the week and uploaded each Monday thereafter.  Voting will commence as soon as each week's photos are uploaded on the Townsville Enterprise Facebook page and will remain open for 'likes' for seven days.

Complete the entry form (after you have read the Terms and Conditions) and email your photo/s, entry form and written permission (if applicable) to enter@tel.com.au

Don't Forget

  • The subject of all photos must be within the Townsville Region
  • Photographs must be taken after July 2011
  • To include the category your photo belongs to
  • Do not add any text to your photo/s
  • An entry form must be completed with your submission, otherwise submissions will not be accepted
  • The competition is open to all ages.
