Townsville North Queensland climate
Townsville is located in the dry tropics and its average maximum temperature ranges from 31 degrees in summer down to a comfortable 25 degrees in the winter months.
The average minimum temperatures range between 24 degrees in summer to 13 degrees in winter. Average rainfall each year is 1143mm, which largely occurs in the summer months.
With more than 300 days of sunshine per year, Townsville and the North Queensland region in general are ideal for the outdoor types. Whether it’s bushwalking, diving or a picnic on the beach, the tropical north has it all.
