The Beach Club Opens on Magnetic Island

3rd July 2020

The latest in bespoke tourism products for Townsville North Queensland has officially launched, with The Beach Club Magnetic Island set to indulge guests with a unique experience on Magnetic Island.

Led by Magnetic Island operators, Clare and Paul Ley from Pilgrim Sailing, and working with Executive Chef Dan Blakeman of Saltwater Magnetic Island, Nelly Bay, The Beach Club is the ultimate combination of exclusive beach relaxation, and top-quality local produce.

The Beach Club owner/operator Clare Ley said the new offering is all about treating guests to a unique view of the region’s premiere island location, while celebrating local cuisine.

“Magnetic Island is a world-class destination in its own right, and our hope is that this new experience will offer yet another special way to explore the island, especially with your nearest and dearest,” Ms Ley said.

“Having been through our recent period of isolation, The Beach Club repurposes the idea of isolation giving visitors a chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of their own beach and taste the sumptuous local produce that we are so lucky to have access to in North Queensland.”

“It has always been a dream of ours to grow our business and continue to showcase the island we now call home.”

With chauffeured boat transfers to one of Magnetic Island’s 23 secluded beaches and bays and a gourmet picnic hamper, The Beach Club is a welcomed addition to the island’s exhaustive list of experiences, only adding to its appeal to both local, domestic and – when permitted – international markets.

Townsville Enterprise Director Tourism and Events Lisa Woolfe said it was fantastic to see tourism businesses continue to innovate and bring new offers into market, especially in a time when the industry had endured so much.

“Magnetic Island is a major drawcard for our region, contributing over $202 million to the region’s GDP alone (pre-COVID; September 2019), and continues to be a hero experience for visitors to Townsville North Queensland,” Ms Woolfe said.

“The Beach Club yet another example of how resilient and passionate our industry is, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors from interstate to enjoy the paradise that is on our doorstep.”
